IHBC’s Council+ (C+) meetings offer members of any category or level of knowledge the chance to explore the institute’s work and contribute to its development, while the 28 November C+ in London offers a unique opportunity to develop the IHBC’s focus on Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and if you want to join this conversation, as only limited places are available, be sure to contact your Branch, or Fiona at email@example.com as soon as possible (NB: c.40 places only, travel expenses covered, allocations of places based on representative attendance).
IHBC Chair David McDonald said: ‘Our next Council+ event offers delegates oversight, feedback and review opportunities on the content, programme and plans for CPD, building on our previous session, which explored our celebrated Membership Application Training Event (MATE) sessions. This way we can make sure we are doing the best we possibly can to support our members and the wider sector.’
‘This kind of review and collective learning – for trustees, staff, volunteers as well as members – is just what Council+ is about: generating new conservation capacity across the UK, while providing more opportunities for members to input into the IHBC direct.’
David Kincaid, IHBC Trustee and Chair of the Membership and Ethics Committee said: ‘CPD is integral to being a member of a professional membership body. This Council+ offers a forum in which we can focus on this and hone your future CPD plans and our support planning.’
Fiona Newton, Operations Director said: ‘Each individual will have the opportunity to stand back from the day to day and consider their CPD needs and aims, if they are relevant, planned and identified, and how they can be met. It will also describe the IHBC’s current response in integrating CPD principles across the whole of the IHBC.
‘Further details will be coming soon but to have the best chance of joining in, do get in touch as soon as possible!’
To join this conversation and think about your own CPD and how the IHBC responds, only limited places are available, so be sure to contact your Branch, or email Fiona at firstname.lastname@example.org to establish your interest as soon as possible.
NB: c.40 places only; travel expenses covered; allocations of places based on member representation.
