IHBC hosts stand at Cambridge’s central conservation area 50th Anniversary celebration: Free CPD and more!

The IHBC is delighted to host a stand as we help the council and local communities celebrate the 50th anniversary of Conservation Areas in Cambridge, on 27 February, at Cambridge’s Guildhall: all welcome though with the evening event by prior booking only at prior booking

Christian Brady, Principal Conservation & Design Officer at Cambridge City Council said: ‘Cambridge central conservation area has reached 50 years since designation and Cambridge planners (now part of Greater Cambridge Shared Planning Service) are marking this on the 27th February at The Guildhall, Cambridge with an afternoon event open to all, featuring displays and talks, and an informal evening event with speakers including Duncan Wilson, Chief Executive of Historic England and Ian Harvey, Executive Director of Civic Voice.

We see it as important to both take stock of what has occurred over the last 50 years, but also to look forward at the continuing importance of the historic core of the city in the context of growth pressures. Many of our speakers contributions on design in the historic environment will be transferable to other contexts but there will be a specifically Cambridge flavour too.’
