The East Midlands Branch of the IHBC will be hosting an afternoon with Charles Mynors, the leading authority on heritage law, on Friday 9 November in the Lincoln City Council Chamber.
Charles Mynors has written extensively on the Law and Planning procedures with regards to the heritage and built environment. He is author of the must have legal bible, ‘Listed Buildings and Other Heritage Assets’, now in its 5th Edition. Charles is an architect, planner, surveyor and barrister who has worked in in local government, practised as a planning barrister for 26 years. He was also a visiting professor at Oxford Brookes University for 23 years, lecturing on historic buildings law there and at the University of Bath. In 2016 he was invited to join the Law Commission; and was the principal author of its Consultation Paper on Planning Law in Wales.
His presentation will cover the topic of Curtilage Listings and will illustrate what might be or might not be a curtilage building using case law examples.
