What do you do if an LPA has no Conservation Officer? HE to answer this question at Civic Voice’s Birmingham conference (19 Oct), with IHBC on hand too!

websiteFollowing the announcement that the London Borough of Ealing decided to delete the role of conservation officer and in view of the Civic Voice campaign on conservation areas and officers, Civic Voice wanted to know from Historic England (HE) exactly what communities should be doing if a local planning authority (LPA) does not have a conservation officer to manage the historic environment, so HE will be at their forthcoming conference in Birmingham, on 19 October, as will the IHBC!

Civic Voice writes:

We are delighted that Historic England’s Deborah Lamb (Deputy Chief Executive) will be answering this question at the Civic Voice conference in Birmingham.??The focus of the Conference will be on conservation and regeneration within our towns and cities and asking how can we balance the need for regeneration whilst conserving our heritage. Join hundreds of Civic Voice members, partners and people working in the historic environment to connect, learn, influence the debate and celebrate the power of community as we ask, ‘How can we balance conservation and regeneration?’
