As part of the 2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage, over the last week of August, national and local organisations across Ireland will host heritage-related events that follow the ‘shared heritage’ topic of the IHBC’s 2018 Belfast School, also a 2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage event, with the theme of ‘sharing stories’.
The Heritage Council writes:
During the last week of August, many national and hundreds of local community organisations organise heritage related events throughout the country. Many of these events are free and the programme highlights the abundance of great work that is carried out in all communities in Ireland to preserve and promote our heritage.
The National Heritage Week is part of European Heritage Days. The theme for 2018 is sharing stories.
