Monmouthshire County Council and Torfaen County Borough Council have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified heritage professonal to join our Heritage Team providing all aspects of heritage advice across the county.

The Heritage Team deal with all aspects of the historic environment including processing Listed Building Consent applications, advising on planning applications in historically important areas, serving formal notices, pro-actively managing the Buildings at Risk Register and Management of all 31 Conservation Areas.

Working directly within the Development Management Team the post holder will be expected to provide specialist advice on heritage and design issues for planning, listed buildings and conservation area proposals at all stages of the planning process. The post holder will be expected to act as the case officer for Listed Building Consent applications and provide advice in all other aspects.

The postholder will have a professional qualification, to degree level, in a relevant conservation related field and experience in planning realted and historic environment dicipline. Membership of the IHBC is desireable.
