The City of London is the local authority for the Square Mile, although it has many interests outside the City boundaries and beyond the usual scope of local government.

The Corporate Property Group is part of the City Surveyor’s Department, which is responsible for managing our commercial and investment property holdings and providing professional valuation, engineering, architecture and surveying services to other departments. The Guildhall is the Headquarters of the City of London Corporation and includes a medieval great hall where ceremonial events often take place. It also contributes to a diverse and sustainable London as well as a globally successful UK.

Join us and, taking responsibility for looking after heritage assets, you’ll assist the City Corporation in achieving its cultural objectives. You’ll also help us to make life better for people and businesses in the City and beyond.

The role
You will enjoy the responsibility for looking after some well known properties, both nationally and internationally. You will be expected to be knowledgeable to a high standard about conservation philosophy and Listed Building legislation.

You will have a good working knowledge of MS Office (including databases) with excellent organisational and communication skills and good cultural awareness. The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines as well as attention to detail and a sense of purpose are essential.

About you
You are expected to be a qualified property professional and have a good working knowledge about the conservation of historic buildings. A degree or other training in conservation and project management is not a requirement but would be advantageous.
