Cardiff Council: Planner (Placemaking: Heritage)

We are looking for a suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic built heritage specialist to play a key role in the preservation and enhancement of Cardiff’s built environment through policy preparation, guidance, development management, monitoring and project work relating to historic assets and urban design matters.

You will be joining three other conservation specialists with ‘named officer’ delegation for Grade II Listed Building Consent applications and it is expected that you will also obtain this status by working closely with Cadw’s Regional Inspector of Historic Buildings. A Degree or diploma in Planning, Architecture, Conservation or Civic Design or other appropriate relevant qualification is essential, full membership of the IHBC and evidence of continuing professional development are desirable.

The post is based in County Hall, Cardiff Bay. You will be given the necessary management and team support, flexible working, peer review and skill sharing to enable you to successfully undertake your role and develop professionally.
