Recruiting for Heritage Consultant or Senior Heritage Consultant to be based in our Suffolk Office or part-time in Suffolk and part-time in Norfolk.
This role is open to full time or part-time candidates and will be part of our experienced and busy Heritage and Archaeology team. Our specialists work on projects on a standalone basis as well as collaboratively with our Planning teams and other internal and external specialists.
Our Suffolk office is located in the heart of Bury St Edmunds and our Norfolk office is located in East Tuddenham, in between Norwich and Dereham, although we have plans to purchase our own Norfolk office this year which is likely to be closer to Norwich.
We have offices located in Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and Lincolnshire. The majority of our projects are within the East Anglia region and we deal with a vast range of large scale and minor projects, often involving complex and interesting schemes. Site visits are required and it is therefore essential to have a driving licence and car.
We are looking for someone with private and/or public sector experience who will be able to provide heritage advice, heritage statements and impact assessments. The ideal person would be commercially aware and have experience or understanding of private sector work, together with a demonstrable understanding of the planning and historic considerations of developments, the setting of listed buildings, architectural history and heritage policy context as well as excellent research skills. Experience or understanding of archaeology is also desirable.
The successful candidate will have an appropriate heritage qualification as well as being a member of the IHBC (Institute of Historic Building Conservation) or working towards full membership.
Parker Planning Services provides excellent salary, bonus and other benefits. During the Coronavirus pandemic no member of staff was furloughed, which is due to our excellent pipeline of work, client base and strong financial position. This is testament to the hard work and professionalism of the team.
