Location: Janus Associates has a progressive attitude towards flexible and remote working. Office hubs are based in Thame, Oxfordshire and Chelsea, London, to which attendance will be required on a regular basis.

Having established a strong market share in the Home Counties and London, we are currently working with a portfolio of grade I, II* and II listed buildings and are an approved supplier to the National Trust.
We are looking for a dedicated, knowledgeable, and capable Heritage Consultant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the successful management and conservation of significant heritage assets. You will be an enthusiastic and experienced individual who can inspire creativity and confidence amongst clients, consultants and colleagues. You will deliver excellent advice, promoting our company and contributing to the development of new business opportunities.
You will be able to take responsibility for the successful management and efficient delivery of your project work and managing contributions by other staff and sub-consultants. You will provide heritage advice and guidance, undertake research and assessment of buildings and sites within the historic environment, and compose and contribute to various reports such as Heritage Statements, Conservation Management Plans, Historic Buildings Appraisals and Impact Assessments. You will also prepare fee proposals and contribute to larger bids.
REQUIREMENTS – ESSENTIAL
- Demonstrable experience of archival and desk-based research, on-site built fabric analysis
- A qualification with the IHBC (or similar) or working towards this
- A working knowledge of legislation, policy and guidance
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- A full UK driving licence
- Experience of managing your own workload and running multiple simultaneous projects
- Able to build good working relationships with other professionals and the public
