Hinckley & Bosworth – A PLACE OF OPPORTUNITY
Situated at the very heart of England on the border of the East and West Midlands, Hinckley is well connected by major transport links to the cities of Leicester, Coventry and Birmingham and in an ideal location for commuting being close to major transport links of the M1, M6, M69, M42 and the A5.
Do you have experience of managing grant schemes and heritage projects? Are you eager to engage with the local community to regenerate their historic town centre? Do you have a passion for making a difference to historic places?
This post will lead, coordinate and administer the development and delivery of the Hinckley Heritage Action Zone (HAZ) over a four year period until its completion. The HAZ has been established by Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council and Historic England and consists of an exciting programme of projects (total value £1.85m) to preserve and enhance key aspects of the town’s heritage and deliver heritage-led regeneration. High Street Heritage Action Zones are Historic England’s national scheme investing £95m to find new ways to champion and revive our historic high streets.
Following a successful expression of interest there is agreement in principle for the Hinckley HAZ, with the Programme Design having been submitted to Historic England for their final approval. The appointment of the Project Officer is subject to the Programme Design being approved.
