A new opportunity has arisen for a Conservation Officer to join the planning service which covers New Forest district outside of the New Forest National Park.
As a Conservation Officer you will have day to day responsibility for matters relating to the area’s built heritage, including 25 Conservation Areas and over 900 listed buildings. The area includes the historic market towns of Lymington and Ringwood, as well as a significant part of the Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The Council is investing in enabling smarter working practices with a programme of enhanced workspaces and technology.
We are looking for a qualified and experienced conservation officer who will work alongside other planning and environmental professionals in delivering and maintaining high quality environments within both towns and countryside. Working with the Senior Conservation and Building Design Officer you will be providing advice on all aspects of heritage matters, including dealing with listed building and conservation area consents.
You will have a relevant qualification and a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a building conservation role, preferably including within a local planning authority. You will need good communication and customer care skills, a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
