We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced professional with technical and practical expertise in the conservation of the historic environment and who is looking for an exciting opportunity to work in a friendly multi-disciplinary team. Working as a Senior Conservation Officer (Technical Specialist) you will provide technical advice to customers and colleagues on the conservation and repair of historic buildings and structures; undertaking building surveys and assessments; preparing repair schedules; and provide assistance with planning and listed building applications.  This role will particularly suit individuals with a background in a specialism such as surveying, structural engineering or architecture, or practical experience of undertaking works to historic buildings.

This is a superb opportunity to work in an outstanding English county with a rich and varied architectural history and an outstanding historic environment.

You will have a recognised building conservation qualification to diploma or degree standard and excellent IT skills, including MS office.  You will have excellent communication skills, together with a sound understanding of building conservation issues, demonstrable experience of providing technical advice on historic buildings, and membership of the Institute for Historic Buildings Conservation (IHBC) or equivalent.
