Cotswold Archaeology is one of the leading providers of professional archaeological and heritage services in the UK. We provide a complete archaeological service including fieldwork, post-excavation and heritage consultancy.
Our Heritage Consultancy department works with a diverse range of clients throughout the UK. We have acted as the expert archaeology and heritage consultants on some of the largest and most high profile infrastructure projects in the country. We also have extensive experience in a broad portfolio of projects which span the logistics, residential, retail, marine and utilities sectors. This allows us to work on some of the most interesting and challenging development and conservation projects in the country. On-going research projects for the national heritage agencies also allow our team to work at the cutting edge of new thinking in archaeology and heritage. While our conservation planning and historic building work allows us to directly contribute to the realisation of improved management, access and presentation of the historic environment. We support our clients from the first stages of scheme inception, informing and shaping development plans, on some of the most iconic and historic buildings and places in the UK. Our work allows us to support projects all the way through the planning and consenting processes and we are often engaged to act as Expert Witness during appeals.
We are seeking experienced Historic Building Consultants to be based in our Andover and Exeter offices. Both offices already have established teams of heritage consultants with a wide variety of skill sets, working on challenging and important development and conservation projects. The historic building consultant will lead the technical work we do, in each office, advising clients on the fabric of historic structures and historic places. We are looking for candidates with demonstrable experience advising on conservation matters in the private and / or public sector.
The successful candidates will require excellent communication and report writing skills, a strong commitment to CPD and the ability to manage a demanding personal work schedule. You will have specialist knowledge of historic buildings, their identification and interpretation, be a member of the Institute of Historic Buildings Conservation and knowledge of the planning process in England and Wales.
Financial and practical assistance with relocation is available, and our competitive benefits package includes paid sick leave, group life assurance, a generous contributory pension and a childcare voucher scheme. If you hold a full manual driving licence and believe you have something to contribute to our team, we would like to hear from you.
