This is an opportunity to play a highly influential role in managing the historic environment through the planning system. It will also develop your leadership skills. Joining the friendly and high achieving North West team, you will be working on exciting heritage projects across the region. You will be directly involved with the conservation of national heritage, allowing it to be enjoyed for generations to come.
As a lead member of the Development Management Team, you will be providing advice in response to pre-application and formal consultations for listed building consent and planning permission. Using your planning expertise and extensive knowledge of historic buildings, areas and designed landscapes, you will work on your own initiative to implement Constructive Conservation to manage change to the most significant heritage assets in the North West.
To be successful in this role you will have an understanding and experience of architecture and urban design in historic places, evidenced by a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject. You will have broad and extensive experience of managing change to the historic environment through the planning system and evidence of dealing positively with a range of stakeholders. With confident and persuasive written and oral interpersonal skills you will also have the confidence to both work as part of a team and take the lead.
