The Oxford Diocesan Advisory Committee (DAC) is seeking an Assistant Church Buildings Officer to help support the long-term sustainable future of the historic church buildings across the diocese.
Working directly with the Senior Church Buildings Officer and the rest of the DAC team, the individual will be responsible for:
- Processing and assisting with DAC casework, including issuing feedback on applications to parishes after the DAC meeting and following this up as appropriate.
- Arranging DAC visits, and attending them as directed by the Senior Church Buildings Officer.
- Assisting in providing information, training and guidance for parishes in all aspects of managing and caring for their church buildings
You may be from an architectural, surveying or conservation officer background, or beginning your career in conservation looking to build your knowledge of conservation techniques, philosophy and project management. The role is adaptable to suit the level of experience you have but a keen eye for detail and the ability to communicate clearly will be essential.
