We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced historic environment professional who is looking for an exciting opportunity to work in a friendly multi-disciplinary team. Working as a Senior Conservation and Design Officer you will provide advice development proposals impacting on the historic environment, produce assessments and recommendations on planning and listed building applications, and to advise members of the public on building conservation issues. We would particularly welcome applications from individuals with a background in a specialism such as architecture/ urban design, surveying or structural engineering.
This is a superb opportunity to work in an outstanding English county with a rich and varied architectural history and an outstanding historic environment.
You will have a recognised building conservation qualification to diploma or degree standard and excellent IT skills, including MS office and familiarity with data base information management and GIS. You will have excellent communication skills, together with a sound understanding of building conservation issues, demonstrable experience of the planning process, and membership of the Institute for Historic Buildings Conservation (IHBC) or equivalent.
