The main purpose of the role is to develop, promote and deliver the Trust’s mentoring and other outreach activities, under the guidance and direction of the Director. This role is for three years, with the option to extend subject to funding.
My Place Mentoring is a capacity-building programme designed to build skills, knowledge and connections in Scotland’s community groups. Its aim is to empower disenfranchised communities in Scotland to engage with their local environment in a meaningful way that changes spaces and places for the better. Potential applicants should be clear that they have the skills and experience necessary to deliver mentoring as described in the Project Overview.
Areas of knowledge required will include, but are not limited to:
- Heritage project management
- Historic environment conservation skills
- Funding sources for community projects (knowledge of Community Shares and crowd funding platforms would be an advantage)
- Charity governance
- People management
- Social media engagement
- Community engagement
- Scottish historic buildings and places
