Pegasus Group are seeking to appoint experienced and highly motivated Built Heritage Consultants to provide built heritage advice and expertise to a wide range of clients across the UK.

The role requires the highest standards of client care. Consultants and Senior Consultants are expected to have demonstrable experience in client care, and at Principal level such experience is essential, as is their experience with liaising with statutory consultees. Associates and Director level candidates are expected to have the ability to not only bring in new clients but to also build upon the Group’s reputation and encourage returning clients and repeat business.

Day to day duties of the role will involve preparation or management of built heritage assessments, statements of significance, setting assessments, site surveys and cultural heritage inputs to all stages of EIA to support applications for Planning Permission, Listed Building Consent or Scheduled Monument Consent. The successful candidate will be involved in the engagement of and negotiation with stakeholders, preparation of proposals, line management and QA.

The successful candidate, regardless of level, will be responsible for supporting and managing (where appropriate) a number of complex projects for a range of clients. The position requires someone capable of taking a lead role on planning applications and site promotions, and having involvement in appeals. It is therefore expected that the successful candidate will be confident in their demeanour and their own abilities. The candidate will be required to support and, where appropriate, manage both the project team within the office as well as the consultant team.

Candidates should have thorough knowledge of the historic environment of the UK with a specific focus on built heritage and setting, and a degree in a relevant subject. Senior level candidates upwards should have a significant professional knowledge of built heritage and the UK planning system and application of policy. Being IHBC qualified is desirable.

A full driving licence, with access to own vehicle is essential.
