An exciting fixed-term opportunity has arisen in the Peak District National Park for a Buildings Conservation & Enforcement Officer.
We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced applicant to join our busy Directorate of Planning & Conservation. This is a new role, straddling both the Cultural Heritage and Enforcement teams. There are 109 conservation areas and almost 3000 listed buildings in the National Park set within some of the most beautiful landscapes of the UK.
Your work will help us to protect and enhance the special landscapes of the Peak District National Park. You will provide specialist conservation advice, support and guidance both internally and externally, and help the Directorate deliver an effective and integrated conservation advice service. You will also be responsible for enforcement investigations in relation to listed buildings, taking cases through from investigation, mediation/negotiation and prosecution where necessary.
The Authority has recently received a prestigious RTPI Award for Excellence in Planning for Heritage and Culture. We are proud to receive this recognition for our ongoing dedication to our heritage, the built environment and historic landscapes in this vibrant National Park and are looking for an enthusiastic individual to contribute to our teams.
RTPI/Full IHBC Membership is desirable.
This post is a full time role, for a three year period. However, applications for a part-time role, pro rata (no less than 30 hours) will be considered.
