This very sad loss underlines just how important was the work which Gus did as membership secretary for the institute. Council does now urgently need to appoint a replacement to this important post, despite temporary arrangements in place for the time being. This voluntary role involves the supervision of all matters relating to applications for membership of the institute and you would be working closely with Lydia Porter, our administrator, who is based in Tisbury, Wiltshire. There is no need to be based in that area as most communication within the institute is handled electronically.You would therefore be provided with hardware appropriate for the task. The post is, of course, voluntary and is currently an elected post with voting rights on council.
