It is our wish that amenity societies and the national conservation bodies avail themselvesof the facilities, either by using the Centre as a regional base or by running short courses and seminars on conserva - cion topics. The potential exists for the Centre to ace as a catalyst and focus for a very broad range of building conservation activities. The Centre will be able to call upon the West Kent College's experienced teaching staff and will also arrange instruction by outside lecturers or specialises where required. The facilities will be available to others in the conservation field to arrange short courses or to hold meetings. Trustees Those who have agreed co steer to the policy and management of the Centre include Sir Bernard Feilden and Donald Insall (who will be well known to conservation officers), Julian Litten (curator in public affairs at the Victoria & Albert Museum) and Bob Lloyd-Jones (director BUILDINGS AND CRAFfSMANSHIP general, Brick Development Association). A management committee, including representatives of SPAB, RlBA, COTAC, trade federations, manufacturers, contractors and the Kent Conservation Officers Group, will guide the day co day management of the Centre which will be under the direction of Scan Halls, the College's director of the division of technology .
