The ideas for restoring and presenting the famous Grade 1 listed 18th-century mansion Clandon Park, destroyed by fire in 2015, presented by six separate teams, are on display at Clandon Park until 1 October, one of which owner the National Trust hopes to implement.
The NT writes:
As part of an International Design Competition, six architect-led teams have now produced concepts visualising their interpretation for the restoration, reimagining and rebuilding of Clandon Park.
From Wednesday 23 August until Sunday 1 October these concepts will be displayed in a temporary structure on the lawn, in front of the grand house that has informed their vision.
A short film, a 1:100 scale model and a series of panels showcase how each team propose to restore and remake the house.
Share your thoughts on the design ideas with us during your visit, before a competition jury selects the winning team this autumn. We’ll then work closely with the winning team to produce the final design for Clandon Park, expected to be revealed in mid-2018.
