The District has 47 Conservation Areas, more than 1300 Listed Buildings, 72 Scheduled Monuments and 4 Registered Parks and Gardens. We are looking to expand our team and our ability to further help shape the future of our historic environment.

You are invited to join our multi-disciplinary team which comprises the Development Management, Conservation and Enforcement Teams for the Authority. The team deals with all Conservation matters including: producing guidance/briefs, reviewing conservation area appraisals, commenting on planning applications which may affect heritage assets, and liaising with internal and external people and partners to impart conservation knowledge and practices. The existing team has a breadth of conservation archaeological, and planning experience. We would welcome a team member with a keen interest to learn and contribute to our continuing progression.

You will have previous experience in the delivery of a service relating to Planning and be educated to degree level.  Membership of RTPI/ IHBC or working towards membership would be desirable.

As a Council, NSDC promotes a culture of flexible / agile working. With this in mind, we are happy to discuss suggestions as to how the responsibilities of this role can be met through a flexible approach to hours and / or location.

For an informal discussion about the post please contact Oliver Scott on 01636 655847.
