Based at our offices in Bath; would you like the experience of working in this exciting and world renowned location?
We are looking to appoint a full time temporary (to cover maternity leave) qualified Town Planner who ideally also is a member of the IHBC. The right person will help us meet the challenges of exciting levels of growth, at the same time as looking after our unique built and natural environment. It would be great if you could demonstrate experience, with a proven track record both within planning and the historic environment, fields and achieving excellent results.
The opportunity to look after the World Heritage City of Bath and at the same time our wide rural area makes the district a unique opportunity and a hugely attractive place to work. One day you might be looking at proposals relating to Bath’s Royal Crescent, the next proposals to extend an agricultural business, works to historic agricultural buildings on a rural Somerset farmstead and another day, a new housing development which might impact on the setting of important heritage assets.
You will independently manage your own workload and recommend decisions. Most applications will be determined by ‘delegated’ authority although some applications may be considered by Development Management Committee when you will present the application to Members.
Whether you are starting out in your career, or looking for your next challenge, there is a huge opportunity for you to gain more experience across a wide range of work. The diversity of work means that there are opportunities to develop more specialised skills in both the historic environment and planning.
We are a high performing and ambitious planning service which has been recognised by the RTPI Planning Excellence awards. We are also a happy and positive team who all work well together and support one another. If you are forward thinking, ambitious, skilled, keen to make a real difference in a world class environment and would like to join our team, we would be delighted to hear from you.
