The City Fringe, Whitechapel, Canary Wharf, the Isle of Dogs and the Olympic Legacy …it’s all happening in Tower Hamlets. We have London’s most ambitious targets for homes and jobs in one of the capital’s most diverse boroughs. The Planning service has a track record of negotiating affordable housing and delivering infrastructure that makes a difference to our communities. With an extensive river frontage, 58 conservation areas, hundreds of listed buildings and the Tower of London World Heritage Site – Tower Hamlets is one of the most exciting places to develop your career in planning.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to join the Council’s Place Shaping Team and have a major influence on the shape and form of future development of the Borough and London. You will be joining a team of leading urban design, conservation and heritage specialists who are working on ground breaking schemes with some of the biggest names in architecture and the construction industry.
We are passionate about what we do. We are committed to creating great places that make our communities proud to live in and that can be enjoyed, now and long into the future. To help us achieve this we are ideally looking for someone who has experience of working on major planning applications, and who understands local authority policies and procedures. If that sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
This opportunity is open to heritage and conservation specialists, urban designers or architects, who have a background and/or qualification in town planning.
