We are a specialist heritage consultancy providing advice and reports of all kinds, for a diverse range of clients including developers, homeowners, English Heritage, and local authorities. Our work ranges from small houses to some of the country’s most important places, and includes conservation management plans, heritage statements, conservation area appraisals, townscape assessments, design advice, and appeals. We are based in central London and Cheltenham, with projects spread throughout the country.
We enjoy working on interesting projects where we can use our understanding of buildings and places to help develop sensitive, creative approaches, and optimise the design and planning strategy for each scheme. We have a broad base of clients who value the quality and integrity of our approach, providing a sound platform for our ongoing growth.
We are looking for a highly motivated professional to join our team, working on some exceptional historic buildings within a supportive and stimulating environment. There is considerable scope for professional development, and opportunities to make fast progress as our business expands.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of architectural history and the heritage policy context, excellent research skills, good commercial awareness, and a commitment to producing advice and reports that are analytically rigorous, creative, and persuasive. Working collaboratively with colleagues, thinking strategically about the wider project context, building good client relationships, and timely delivery of work, are also essential.
Management experience and the capacity to contribute to business development will be an advantage, whilst knowledge of urbanism or graphic design would be welcome. Membership of the IHBC and other professional bodies is desirable.
The role is full-time although part-time or flexible working could be considered.
We offer a competitive salary reflecting relevant skills, experience and other attributes.
