Lead the programme of work that will conserve and celebrate one of the most important buildings in the world. The Flaxmill Maltings shaped modern architecture and have a richness of history that will provide opportunities for engagement with the community and commercial development to underpin the site`s long term sustainability. Success in this role will have a lasting legacy for our country`s heritage.

As the public body that champions England`s historic environment, Historic England helps people understand, value and care for a diverse range of cultural records from the stone-age to the contemporary. You will help to unlock yet more of this narrative.

Taking ownership for the management of the entire programme of works you will provide effective and proactive leadership. Initially you will focus on delivering Stage 2 of the project, in line with HLF requirements, alongside the initial work to progress the wider site development. Continual liaison between all stakeholders on this project will be key to your success. You will work collaboratively with the Project and Programme Boards, that include our Chief Executive and Chairman, alongside engaging with the local Friends group and Council through to commercial developers and our subject matter experts.

Relationship development and management will something that you excel at, alongside successfully delivering complex multi-disciplinary projects. You might be an experienced regeneration manager or project lead with experience of large scale conservation-led developments. You will have proven expertise in managing commercial and heritage outcomes. As a natural leader you will balance strategic thinking, commercial realities and the ability to inspire others to drive projects through all eventualities.
